Message At high speeds the e- fan itself becomes a restriction in the system due to the fact that the blades are so close together. This creates a high pressure area between the fan and the radiator which in turn stalls the air flow to the point where the radiator dosn't cool anymore. The bypass shroud design alleviates that restriction. I had discovered this issue in my shroud designs and experimentation with e-fans last year. A closed shroud design worked fine for me around town but at 80 mph on the freeway the temps slowly started creeping up due to restriction.

I just say the E - fan system on a Shelby and it is beautifully designed with moulded shrouds and integrated bypass areas. Very sweet.
